How often do scientists read journal articles? How much time do they spend peer-reviewing articles for publication? How much do they collaborate with colleagues? Using what tools? Are scientists satisfied with their institution’s tech transfer offices? We’d like to find some real answers to the questions surrounding science communications so we can help come up with some real solutions. No one else has done this before. A number of researchers have measured different parts of the problem, but there hasn’t been a survey yet of the full science communication landscape. Our survey team is currently reviewing existing studies and literature, and will roll out a new nationwide series of science communication surveys soon.
